Course Description
This program provides the student with the basic knowledge and practical skills necessary to become an entry-level truck driver. All in-vehicle instruction at Extreme Professional Driver Training is one-on-one instruction with a licensed ICBC instructor.
The student and instructor will work in-town and rural routes. Class 1 driver training includes pre-trip and 2-hour road tests at ICBC. Training will be done on a full-size tractor-trailer unit, loaded at 70% of legal axle weight.
This program provides the student with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to be ready to be a truck driver for any number of applications. This program will consist of one-on-one instruction, with the student and instructor on in-town, rural and mountain routes. Training will be done on a full-size tractor-trailer unit, loaded at 70% of legal axle weight.
Class 1 driver training includes 16-hour ICBC certified Air Brake Course, 28 hours of Class 1 Training, a pre-trip inspection, Classroom Theory (approx. 6 hours), a 5-hour road trip, and a road test at ICBC.
The theory portion includes:
- Shifting theory
- Log Book Instruction
- Chain-Up Procedures.
The driving portion includes: Pre-Trip Coupling and Uncoupling, Backing Up, Defensive Driving, Uphill & Downhill Shifting, Road Test Prep & the actual Road test.
Students must pass their Air Brake knowledge test prior to their road test.
